Unilever , the world"s third-biggest food and consumergoodscompany, unveiled plans on Thursday to cut 20,000 jobs andsellslow-growing businesses in a bid to speed up its recovery andfightsurging food costs.
Unilever said the restructuring would affect about a tenth ofits180,000 employees. The cuts would be mainly in Europe and wouldbeimplemented over four years.
